3rd Grade Homework

Hi 3rd Grade Families,

This week students will be getting multiplication fact practice homework. Each day they will be given a worksheet that they will need to complete at home and then return to school the next day. If students do not do their homework they will need to do the worksheet during quiet time the following day at school.

3rd grade students will need to know all of their multiplication facts by the end of the year. We have talked about a variety of different strategies to solve multiplication facts but eventually it comes down to memorizing their facts. Please help support your 3rd grader with their homework and with memorizing their facts.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Best,
Rachael Weber

Conferences!

Hi Everyone!

It's conference time! I have sent a good doc link to all of my 3rd grade parents. If you didn't get it please let me know and I will send it again to you. I've realized that you can't edit the document if you're doing it from your phone. Let me know if you're having any issues.

I know things have been hard for many of the 4th graders this year. I would like to offer an additional 3- way conference with me for any families that would like to! Unfortunately I can't take any 4th grade conferences on March 22nd because I have 21 3rd graders to meet with. However, if you email me then we can try to find some times either before or after school hours to meet together!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Rachael

3rd Grade Update!

Math:
Last week we learned a multiplication game called Baseball Multiplication. If you want to play this game at home you can ask Ms. Rachael for the supplies.

This week in math we have learned about Perimeter. One activity that we did to teach us about perimeter was making rectangles with a perimeter of 36 units. Another activity that we did was using string (all different sizes). We wrapped the string around objects in our classroom to see if the string fit perfectly around the objects or not.

Watch out!

Hello Families!

There will be a note coming home this week about our new and (hugely) improved blog updates! Time with students is the most important part of my time and unfortunately my blog has become low on the priority list. However, I know how important home communication is and I am vowing to do better! :)

On Wednesdays the 3rd graders and I will brainstorm what they have learned so far that week and what they are looking forward to. We will record our brainstorm on this blog!

On Fridays the 4th graders and I will do the same!

My classroom is an open door, if you would like to come help out and think you could lend a helping hand with some math or science instruction let me know!

All my best,
Rachael
